CEE Carbon Emission Trading

Phase II and beyond

20th June, Sofitel Victoria Hotel, Warsaw, Poland

An intensive briefing for the CEE and EU Markets on the CEE Carbon Emissions Trading & Carbon Credit Investment Strategies.

This conference will build on EastEuro Link previous successes in the CEE Energy industry to deliver tangible benefits to your business.

Europe has almost single-handedly created a global carbon market, which has seen phenomenal growth since the inception of the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU-ETS) in 2005. Since then, the emissions trading market in the CEE region has steadily been up and running. Set against a background of tightening legislation on emissions and widening political support for international trading schemes, it has become imperative for business strategists to get involved.

The second phase of the European Union's emissions trading system runs from 2008-2012 and plans for a third phase, which would run from 2013 to 2020, have recently been announced.

Trading on the global carbon market is expected to increase by more than 50% this year, to reach US$92 billion. Analysts, who have not looked much beyond the first Kyoto commitment period, are now turning their attention to what happens in the long run. The first phase has hardly proved a triumph, as the number of permits topped the amount of pollution - sending the price of carbon - the centrepiece of the whole system - crashing to almost nothing.

This conference will examine the key issues of the current global structure of a carbon reduction scheme and opportunities for CEE Carbon Emission Trading.

Now in its 6th year in the CEE Energy industry, the EastEuro Link CEE Carbon Emission Trading forum will equip you to deal with the uncertainties of a market that is undoubtedly poised for rapid transformation through 2008 and beyond.

Our panel of expert speakers will be examining in detail key Carbon Emission markets drivers around the CEE region. Featuring international keynotes and leading experts addressing the most topical and strategic issues, the forum will include extensive presentations and in-depth analysis of some of the key issues facing the industry.
